Jay Murray has more than 20 years of experience in commercial MEP engineering design. An engineer by trade, Jay started at C3 in 1995 and originally focused on HVAC and plumbing design. With a strong interest in sustainable building, Jay has lead C3’s sustainable design group since 2002, when C3 became one of the charter members of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). His background in engineering design creates a seamless connection to the sustainability aspects of this industry.
Among his accomplishments, Jay was the sustainable consultant (LEED Administrator) for the Macallen Building project, the first high-rise residential building in Boston to receive LEED Gold rating. Jay was also LEED administrator on a new construction project in Connecticut that achieved LEED Platinum. He was the engineer of record and LEED administrator for a new high-rise dormitory at Northeastern University and was recently invited to lecture Northeastern students on sustainable design.
Jay has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in ocean engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Jay, his wife Jennifer and their five children enjoy outdoor activities such as going to the beach, skiing, hiking, and simply spending time with family and friends.
