A member of the C3 team since 2004, Bob Dyson brings an extensive and varied background in the energy and utility business. His experience in energy engineering and facility operations has contributed to successful energy reductions and operational improvements for a number of our clients, including the Hancock Tower and Hebrew Senior Life’s NewBridge on the Charles development. With the emphasis on green building, Bob has developed commissioning procedures and performed the functional testing for a number of projects, many of which have achieved LEED Certification or an Energy Star rating.
Bob has been fascinated by energy and power systems since he first operated steam turbine propulsion systems in the U. S. Navy. After earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, he worked in the paper, pharmaceutical and power generation industries. He has managed power generation projects ranging from a 1,760-megawatt combined cycle plant to a 50-kilowatt steam turbine plant. As the Engineering V.P. for Boston’s steam utility, Bob led a team of utility managers that oversaw the relocation of the utility pipes and cables prior to the Big Dig.
After many years of coaching youth soccer and basketball, Bob then spent several years raising the funds, obtaining the property and constructing a new youth soccer complex in Walpole, Massachusetts. If you see a shiny Indian motorcycle at a job site, Bob is probably testing some equipment!
