Courtney has been working in the fire protection field for more than 18 years and has been at C3 since 2007. As the senior fire protection engineer, Courtney is responsible for overseeing the fire protection aspects of designs and due diligence inspections for our clients. He also works closely with our code consulting group to develop code-compliant reviews for life safety and fire protection systems.
During college, Courtney was an active member of the College Park Volunteer Fire Department in Maryland. This experience allowed him to observe fire events and learn firsthand how a fire actually burns. His professional experience includes fire protection, fire alarm, and life safety designs in a range of different building types—commercial, residential, assembly, and storage properties.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in fire protection engineering from the University of Maryland and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Courtney enjoys spending his time off with family and friends, whether hiking in the White Mountains, catching a live sporting event or just hanging around in the backyard grilling.
