Jay R. Murray, LEED AP
Engineer & LEED Administrator
Jay Murray has over 15 years experience in commercial MEP Engineering design. An engineer by trade, Jay started at C3 in 1995 and was originally focused on both HVAC and plumbing design. In 2002, C3 became one of the charter members of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), at which time Jay embraced the sustainability movement and currently heads up the sustainable design group at C3.
Among his accomplishments, the Macallen Building stands in the forefront. This 300,000 square foot high rise condominium project became the first building in Boston to receive the USGBC LEED Gold rating. Jay was the sustainable consultant (LEED Administrator) on the Macallen project and was responsible for obtaining the Gold certification. For Jay, having a background in engineering design creates a seamless connection to the sustainability aspects of this industry. These experiences include energy and water efficiency, system options, sustainable products, and indoor air quality are a few examples. Having a strong technical education and experience proves a great attribute to his role at C3.
Jay graduated from The University of New Hampshire in 1992 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Ocean Engineering. Jay and his wife Jennifer enjoy spending time with their five children. Aside from the busy day-to-day activities such as sports and school programs, they enjoy outdoor activities such as going to the beach, skiing, hiking and simply spending time with family and friends.
