Vice President of MEP Engineering

Jim Avitabile has over 25 years of experience in the engineering design and construction fields and has been with C3 since 1990. Prior to joining C3, Jim provided consulting engineering services to the facility departments of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Wellesley college, where he specialized in developing and implementing energy conservation measures resulting in the savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars for these institutions. As a C3 Vice President, Jim oversees and manages all aspects of the day to day operations of the company’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety and information technologies design engineering divisions and has spearheaded its growth from its two original members to approximately forty full time engineers, designers and supporting staff. Together, they have completed designs and managed the installations for more than 50 million square feet of commercial, institutional, manufacturing and bio-technology space.

Jim holds an Associate Degree in Mechanical Power Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is a member of ASHRAE and ASPE.

Jim takes great pride in his family which takes up all his spare time outside of the office. He and his wife Cheryl have been together since 1982 and have three exceptional daughters Shawna, Ashley and Amy. Jim was active in town sports and he is proud that his girls all agree that he was the “worst” coach they ever had. Currently, his two younger daughters allow him to watch them play for their division one college soccer team at UNH, as long as he “doesn’t say anything to the referee.
