Doug Anderson, BS, MBA
Manager, Code Advisory Group

Doug has almost 30 years of experience in building engineering and construction. He joined C³ in 2007 to provide both in-house code consulting for the firm's MEP Engineering and Due Diligence services, and to establish a Code Consulting group as a new practice within the firm. In his position he oversees all aspects of Code Consulting services for C³ clients. His employment experience with the City of Boston Inspectional Services Department, as a Plans Examiner, provides him with a unique perspective on codes enforcement and interpretations.

Doug is a 1981 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with a BS in Electrical Engineering. His first job out of college was for an industrial OEM based in Baltimore, MD. He engineered and supervised final inspections of, and managed commissioning of, multi-million dollar process equipment at paper mills, power plants and similar industrial facilities at locations throughout the US and Canada. Being in his 20’s at the time, it offered a tremendous technical start to a career. Following this he obtained his MBA from Boston College in 1989.

Doug and his family live in Scituate, and of course they love going to the beach whenever possible. He enjoys organic gardening and is showing his two sons where food really comes from. They enjoy the fruits of their labors all winter long with a freezer and root cellar full of harvest. When it’s not gardening season he enjoys model railroading, a hobby he had as a child and one he picked up again with his older son. It’s an ideal hobby for him as it involves engineering, construction, artistic creativity and operations management…sort of like work!
