Senior Construction Project Manager

Brian Southerland has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry and has been with C³ since 1998. As a Construction Project Manager, Brian oversees a wide variety of projects for commercial and institutional clients. He has a specialty in pre-construction planning services and estimating to assure the client’s early vision can be completed within the budget, before more time and money are spent on the design. Brian’s experience in the construction and commercial real estate industry allows clients to utilize the C³ skillsets targeted to each client’s specific need. Brian also participates with the C³ plan review team and on design peer reviews focused on constructability and cost analysis.

Brian received a Degree in Architectural Technology from Blue Hill Technical Institute in 1981 and a Certificate in Construction Law from Northeastern University in 1984. He holds unrestricted construction supervisor’s licenses from the City of Quincy, Town of Brookline and the State of Massachusetts as well as a City of Boston Builder’s License. Over the years his field construction experience, coupled with construction project management expertise, has proven a seamless fit into the C³ model of technical and practical client representation

Brian grew up in the construction business. A native of Quincy with three sisters and a brother, he watched his father work in the construction and facilities field for over forty years at Boston University, and has come to understand the world of his father, working tirelessly to deliver successful projects. That work ethic, seen early on, is a big component of his success and breeds excitement about the new challenges seen in the A/E/C industry today. Brian lives in Plymouth with his wife Jane. The Southerlands enjoy all the summer sports that the area offers, with Brian Jr. active in the Plymouth Little League, lacrosse, and BMX racing at Otis Air Force Base. Brian Sr. has regular duty maintaining the backyard pool, which has become the neighborhood gathering spot for young and old alike.
